Slave To The Details New Wave

From fellow mp3 blogger Slave to the Details, new tracks from Nouvelle Vague. Slave To The Details New Wave: "I’ve always thought Nouvelle Vague was the perfect band to listen to on hot summer days. How convenient that Bande part, their new album, is being released when a heat wave is spreading all over the country.

Nouvelle Vague is the fruit of the collaboration between French producers Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux. The band has a very simple concept: making very mellow and unexpected covers of classic new wave hits.

While their previous album had a bossa nova-ish kind of vibe, Bande part, has many more influences.

Musically [we saw the album] moving between Jamaica, the cradle of mento music which became ska/rocksteady then reggae, to the calypso isle of Trinidad via Cuban salsa, Haitian voodoo, and eventually back to our beloved Brazilian coast

Featured on this post are Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart featured on the band’s first album, Echo & The Bunnymen’s The Killing Moon, Bauhaus’ Bela Lugosi’s Dead and Lords Of The New Church’s Dance With Me… oh boy, I can’t choose! There are too many good songs."
